Baby Spinach, Banana, Pineapple, Blueberry Smoothie w/ Chia Seed, Flax Meal, Spirulina and Vega Protein. Once you get the hang of making smoothies, it will become a very fast process. I like to pre-prep a bunch of fresh fruit and freeze them in bags so I always have on hand for smoothies.
8 oz. Filtered Water
1 large handful of fresh Baby Spinach (or any baby/soft leafy green variety)
1 frozen Banana (peeled before freezing)
3/4 Cup frozen Pineapple cubes
1 handful of frozen blueberries
1 tbsp Chia Seeds
2 tbsp Flax Meal
1 tsp Spirulina Powder (Blue Green Algae)
1 scoop Vega Protein Powder (I used Bodacious Berry)
Add 8oz of filtered water to your blender along with the fresh spinach. Blend on “liquify” setting for about 1 minute (or until the consistency is just green water). Now add in your frozen fruits and blend on “Crush Ice” setting until it sounds as if there is nothing being crushed anymore and then switch to “liquify” setting (about another 1-2 minutes). Add in the Chia Seeds, Flax Meal, Spirulina and Vega Protein and blend (on liquify setting) one more time for another 1-2 minutes. Pour into a large, tall glass. CLEAN UP BEFORE DRINKING (this reenforces good habits and a new regimen). Enjoy your smoothie w/ your favorite straw…I recommend a glass one from GlassDharma.
This recipe makes 1 large serving (about 16oz) or 2 small servings (about 8oz each).
