GARGANTUAN GREEN SMOOTHIE

BABY KALE, BABY SPINACH, BANANA, MANGO, PINEAPPLE, STRAWBERRY, APPLE, GOJI BERRIES, VEGA PROTEIN, SPIRULINA, MACA ROOT, HEMP POWDER, HEMP OIL, FLAX SEEDS, CHIA SEEDS AND COCONUT FLAKES

This smoothie is HUGE! It can feed 2 people or 1 hungry person…starving for nutrition…starving for change! My process with smoothies continues to extend as I grow into certain tastes. The big thing I’ve learned is that 1 scoop of Vega Smoothie powder will make ANYTHING taste great. So don’t worry too much about your pairings of fruits, greens, powders or mix-ins…it’s gonna taste awesome! GET IT ALL IN THERE!! Smoothies are the perfect opportunity to go wild and pack it full of nutrition. Don’t skimp on ingredients. If it makes too much, mason jar some of it for later.

10 oz of Filtered Water
1 handful of Baby Kale leaves
1 handful of Baby Spinach leaves
1 frozen Banana
1/4 Cup Frozen Strawberries
1/4 Cup Frozen Mango
1/4 Cup Frozen Pineapple
1/4 Cup Frozen Apple
1 small handful of Goji Berries
1 scoop Vega Smoothie Powder (Vanilla or Berry)
1 tsp Spirulina Powder
2 tsp Hemp Powder
1 – 1 1/2 tsp Maca Root Powder
1 Tbsp Chia Seed
1 Tbsp Flax Seed or Flax Meal
1 Tbsp Hemp Oil
1 small handful of Coconut Flakes

Add 10 oz of filtered water to your blender along with the fresh kale and fresh spinach. Blend on “liquify” setting for about 1 minute (or until the consistency is just green water). Now add in your frozen fruits and blend on “Crush Ice” setting until it sounds as if there is nothing being crushed anymore and then switch to “liquify” setting (about another 1-2 minutes). Add in the Goji Berries, Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Spirulina, Maca, Hemp, Vega Protein and half of the Coconut Flakes. Blend (on liquify setting) one more time for another 1-2 minutes. Pour into a large, tall glass. Sprinkle the rest of the Coconut Flakes on your finished Smoothie. CLEAN UP BEFORE DRINKING (this reenforces good habits and a new regimen). Enjoy your smoothie w/ your favorite straw; although, for Earth’s sake, I recommend a glass one from Glass Dharma http://glassdharma.com.
