BABY KALE, ALMOND MILK, BANANA, MANGO, PINEAPPLE, GOJI BERRY, VEGA ONE (FRENCH VANILLA) PROTEIN, MACA, HEMP, SPIRULINA,CHIA SEED, FLAX SEED
After a couple days of eating some healthy but rich foods, I like to reset with my juices and smoothies. I pack a ton of greens and other plant based nutrition into them and it makes my mind and body happy. This time around I finally got a chance to try Vega’s flagship protein, Vega One. I must say that the flavor (French Vanilla) is very versatile and well rounded enough to add to just about any smoothie. The vanilla comes through but is not overpowering and gives the rest of the flavors in the smoothie some room to “speak”. My usual staple protein is the Vega Smoothie (Viva Vanilla), which from a “taste” perspective is comparable to that of Vega One. The biggest difference between the two is the nutrition content; and it showed after drinking it! There is so much more energy packed into Vega One and with all of the other ingredients I put in with it, there is no doubt that this breakfast smoothie will keep you going into the afternoon hours.
As you can see for yourself, one serving of Vega One has the nutritional equivalent to eating a wide variety of foods (which most people do not have the time or patience to do each day). And the fact that Vega One is an entirely plant based, clean, whole food protein, makes it that much better for you (and the animals!).
8 oz Almond Milk (or other Nut Milk)
2 large handfuls of Baby Kale leaves
1 Frozen Banana
1 small handful of Frozen Mango Chunks
1 small handful of Frozen Pineapple Chunks
1 small handful of Dried Goji Berries
1 scoop of Vega One (French Vanilla) Protein
1 Tbsp Maca Powder
1 Tbsp Hemp Powder
1 tsp Spirulina
1 Tbsp Chia Seed
1 Tbsp Flax Seed
Pour Nut Milk into the blender along with the Baby Kale. Blend on liquify setting until all greens are broken down. Add in the frozen fruits and berries. Blend on crush ice setting until cracking stops…then blend on liquify for about 40 secs. Add in the all remaining ingredients. Blend again on liquify setting about 1 minute. If too thick, you can always adjust by adding more nut milk or water. Pour into a large, tall glass. CLEAN UP BEFORE DRINKING (this reenforces good habits and a new regimen). Enjoy!
