COCONUT WATER, BANANA, MEDJOOL DATES, VEGA ONE (CHOCOLATE), Maca, CACAO, COCONUT FLAKES, CHIA SEED AND FLAX MEAL
Just kidding…I don’t “date” anymore; I was remarried in 2008. But you can get this other kind of Date called “Medjool” and put them in your smoothies, oatmeal, cereal, etc. They are REALLY sweet and tasty! They are rich in Fiber, Potassium and Copper and are a very solid source of Carbohydrate. Very good before a workout or when you need a boost of energy. Most of the carbs in these dates come from sugar though, so don’t over do them (I only have 2-3 of them per serving). Mixing the dates with the flavor of chocolate seemed like a pairing that was meant to be and I was right, they are a power couple. Enjoy!
12 oz Coconut Water
1 Frozen Banana
2-3 Medjool Dates (pitted)
1 packet/serving of Vega One (Chocolate)
1 tsp Maca Powder
1 Tbsp Cacao Powder
1 Tbsp Coconut Flakes
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
1 Tbsp Flax Meal
4-5 Ice Cubes
Pour Coconut Water into the blender then add all other ingredients. Blend on crush ice setting until cracking stops…then blend again on liquify setting for about 30-40 secs. If too thick, you can always adjust by adding more Coconut Water. Pour into a large, tall glass. CLEAN UP BEFORE DRINKING (this reenforces good habits and a new regimen). Enjoy!
